Coming soon to a theater near you

Awards season is over, leaving the door open for summer movies to start entering theatres. Amongst the many new movies about to hit the big screen, here are some upcoming March flicks.

Watchmen - March 6

This highly-anticipated graphic novel adaptation has comic book fans salivating to see this new film, even though creator Alan Moore pulled his name from the project. However, even the uninitiated can enjoy this bleak alternative look at 1985, where anti-heroes are all the world has left to defend it against itself. Starring a cast of mostly unknown actors, director Zack Snyder has his work cut out for him.

Monsters vs. Aliens - March 27

As much as you may try to deny it, there is still a kid in all of us who loves seeing children’s movies, so “Monsters vs. Aliens” may be worth looking into. This most recent Dreamworks release has monsters defending Earth against an invading alien hoard, and if it’s half as good as “Kung Fu Panda,” “Monsters vs. Aliens” will be worth the time.
