Union Art Gallery rules adjusted
The Union Art Gallery will now display more than simply stand-alone senior projects from art majors. Any student with an art show idea can contact art department head Jeff Dintaman with a proposal. If deemed worthy for display, it will appear in the gallery.
Part of the reason for this restructuring is that senior projects will now be displayed together. One of the affected students is art major Ryan Kitchen (‘11), who views the new policy favorably.
“When the Luther Artists Collective applied for our show, we simply wrote an e-mail to the art department head Jeff Dintaman explaining our goals and what we had in mind,” Kitchen said.“I think it will be a lot better than it used to be. It will give the kids that care more of a chance to show what they’ve got. Everyone wins.”
Dinatman and Assistant Professor of Art Ben Moore will be contacting students who they feel could grow from having their own show on display in the Union Gallery.
