Queue, n. A line of people waiting for their turn at something. “Is this the queue for the toilet?”
v. To join a line of people and take part in their waiting. “We should queue for the movie at about 11:30 if it starts at 11:45”.
Rah, n. slang for a preppy girl typically characterized by the combination of mini skirts, leggings and Ugg boots in one ensemble.
Digestives, n. Delicious English biscuits.
Biscuit, n. Cookie.
Private School, n. Public School
Public School, n. Private School
Fancy Dress, n or adj. Costume. “Would you like to come to my Halloween fancy dress party this weekend?”
Chips, n. French Fries.
Crisps, n. Chips.
Pre-Lash, n or v. To consume alcohol before leaving the house for a night out; Pre-game.
Car Park, n. Parking lot.
Mobile, n. Cell phone.
Top Up, v. To pre-pay a certain amount, usually on a phone card or bus card. “My mobile is almost out of minutes, so I’d better top up.”
Take Away, n or adj. To go.
Cornet, n. The cone part of an ice cream cone.
Jacket Potato, n. Baked potato.
Rubbish Bin, n. Trash can.
Braces, n. Suspenders.
