Women’s golf places 4th in conference tournament

The Iowa Conference championships wrapped up Oct. 2-3 here at Oneota Golf and Country Club. The final 36 holes of the 72-hole tournament were played in cold, wet conditions on the par 72, 5,800 yard trek.

Wartburg College tallied a four-round total of 1,286 and captured the team championship by 17 strokes. Central College was second at 1,303, followed by Simpson College at 1,343. Luther finished fourth, carding a 1,367.

Emily Looft (‘10) became a two-time all-conference performer, shooting a 78 Oct. 3 and finished third overall from the field of 41 golfers. Looft shot rounds of 80-81-85-78 for a 72-hole total of 324. With this honor she becomes only the sixth golfer in Luther history to earn all-conference honors twice.

Kaitlyn Traxler (‘13) missed earning all-conference honors by one stroke. Traxler shot rounds of 80-83-85-89-337 and finished in a two-way tie for 11th place. The top-10 golfers earn all-conference honors.

Completing the Norse five included Krista Solie (‘10) (16th - 347), Andrea Pagh (‘10) (24th - 359) and Krista Gulstrand (‘11) (29th - 372).
