The many moods of Vienna

Back when I was revving myself up for this trip, I was definitely picturing concert halls and palaces (which aren't hard to come by here). But, even though we’ve been going to as many concerts as we can (for as cheap as 4 euro!!), many of us still felt like we were missing some key part of Vienna. This weekend, we found it.

Viennese tidbits

We’re starting to fall into a rhythm over here: rehearsal in the morning, lunch, rehearsal/class until 3, then usually shows in the evenings/whatever exploration you can squeeze in. With such a packed schedule, we’re experiencing a lot! There are also all kinds of opportunities this weekend, but I’ll get there when, you know, they actually happen.

V for Victory!

So much has been happening here in Vienna! I’m sorry I haven’t been so good at updating lately, but what with scanty wireless choices and keeping busy, it’s been hard to find a good time to blog. But, you probably want to hear about all the stuff we’ve been doing that’s kept me so busy, rather than my excuses.

Sweet and Salty--Salzburg

Guten Tag! I’m officially writing from Vienna! We’ve only been here for half a day, but the whole orchestra has already fallen in love. We feel like it’s been much longer than just a few days abroad, since we’ve done and seen so much of Salzburg (named after the salt deposits, but full of sweet sweet treats!).

The Hills are Alive!

After waiting around on campus for 3 days, worrying, repacking, then frantically reading the course book, the day finally came when LCSO could board the plane and say 'Guten Tag!' to Munich. It was a bit hectic in the airport, what with violins, violas, trumpets and other moderate sized instruments being carry-ons.

It begins.

Vienna. City of music, city of refinement, city of...actually, I have no idea.
