Norse Tennis Attacks the Net

The Luther Women’s Tennis Team split their team for maximum playing time on Saturday, Sept. 19. As a team they posted four wins against The University of Dubuque and Carthage College (Wis.) at home, and over Buena Vista University (Iowa) and Morningside College (Iowa) in Storm Lake,
Iowa.

Men’s Golf Team swings into 2nd place at Augsburg Invitational

The 25th nationally ranked Luther College golf team finished second at the 14-team Augsburg Invitational held Sept. 12-13 at Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake, Minn. The Norse shot a two-round total of 601, finishing three strokes behind UW-Stout.

Luther gets a kick from Chemistry

The Luther Women’s Soccer team kicked off their season posting a 2-3 record, a mediocre start compared to their finishing record of 11-7-2 last season. Despite this slow start, the team is optimistic with a mix of experienced players and incoming freshman talent.

The Luther Men’s Golf Team took their final strokes this past weekend with a second place finish at the 2009 Iowa Conference Championships in Indianola, Iowa. Shooting a four-round total of 1222, Luther placed 21 strokes behind Central College.

Norse softball takes 2nd in IIAC championship

The Luther softball team won three games but, lost two to Coe College and finished in second place at the IIAC Championships this weekend, narrowly missing out on an automatic bid to the national championships.

On April 30, Luther jumped out to a good start in the tournament, defeating Simpson College 7-5.

Norse baseball sweeps Kohawks in home doubleheader

Luther dominates Coe and moves into fifth place in IIAC as regular season comes to a close

Luther and Coe managed to get two complete games in on Saturday afternoon before lightning and rain fell on the Decorah area. The Norse scored a total of 13 runs on 17 hits as they swept the Kohawks 8-4 and 5-4. The two wins give Luther an Iowa Conference record of 11-7, 23-11 overall, while Coe fell to 13-8 in league play, 20-16 overall.
